Ben Kessel is a petroleum geologist with 15 years in the oil in gas industry. After researching carbonate stratigraphy and sedimentology in school, he spent 11 years with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation working a wide variety of clastic reservoir development and exploration projects in the Rockies. Ben jumped into unconventional development in the Delaware Basin at Resolute Energy in 2017, and is currently the Director of Geology at Franklin Mountain Energy, LLC, a northern Delaware Basin operator.
Whether in core or outcrops, Ben loves looking at rocks. He is fascinated by lithologic textures, sedimentary structures, trace fossil assemblages, and the vastness of geologic time.
Outside of work, Ben loves mountain biking, running, snowboarding, birds, playing bass guitar and spending time with his family.
